What happens with an animated GIF?

Only the first frame is converted. This tool produces a still WebP, not an animated one.

Which formats can I feed in?

Anything your browser can decode as an image — in practice JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP and often WebP and SVG.

Will I lose quality?

WebP here is lossy at the quality you choose. High settings (85+) are visually very close to the source for most images.

Does it keep the original dimensions?

Yes. The WebP has exactly the same pixel dimensions as the input. Use the Image Resizer first if you also want to change the size.

Is it private?
